
Philip 'Chip' Dodd
President / Partner
Chip, the oldest son of Kay Mirick, has been at the helm of SSVA for over 15 years. He is a keen entrepreneur who has transitioned SSVA into a financially sound, technologically savvy company and one of the best service providers in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He frequently says that his job is to keep the stadium open so team SSVA can play the game. In addition to his leadership, Chip is a fun loving “outdoorsy” person with too many hobbies to count. Some of his favorites are adventure racing, boating, camping, skateboarding, wakeboarding, rock-climbing, new technology, mountain biking and scuba diving. Chip is well respected among other professionals within the industry, having presented at many ID / DD focused conferences and serving on various boards and committees. In addition he is an active member and has held various national and international positions in EO – Entrepreneur’s Organization.

Andie Plumley
Vice President / Partner
Andie, Kay’s protege, began her journey with SSVA in 2007. An Air Force “Brat,” she completed her B.S. in Sociology from University of Maryl and M.S in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma while living in Germany. Andie is a licensed QMHP, a Certified Trauma Professional an endorsed Positive Behavioral Supports Facilitator and a PCT Trainer. Her clinical approach is holistic in nature, focusing on individual strengths and overall wellness. She has a genuine caring for all people ( and animals) and works tirelessly to help others live their best lives. Andie assisted in the development of Positive Practices and is a champion of a more positive and peaceful world. She acts a role model and mentor to SSVA’s leaders, and was awarded the 2018 VNPP Leadership Award. In 2015, Andie became a Registered Yoga Instructor. She has since completed over 300 hours of additional training focusing on specific population to include people impacted by cancer (Y4C), addiction (Y12SR), trauma (MYT) and autism (Ashrams for Autism). She now leads Team ThisAbility Yoga offering several classes a weak.
Andrea has been with the company for over 7 years. She leads SSVA’s financial department, overseeing the day-to-day fiscal operations and collaborating with the owners to outline a sound fiscal strategy that promotes continued success. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Music from the University of Northern Colorado and a Masters in Music Therapy from Florida State University. She is a proud mother of three children and loves seeing them feeling proud, energizedand doing the things they are passionate about. She is especially encouraged when her son with Down syndrome is accepted and valued by others. In her free time, she enjoys doing anything adventurous! Whether it be mountain biking, running, paddling, rock climbing or even scuba diving, she loves being on the move and off the beaten path.

john bass
Head of Infrastructure
John has been with Support Services of Virginia for over twenty years. He is responsible for overseeing all of the SSVA infrastructure, including buildings and company fleet. John is a veteran of the United States Air force. He is a jack of all trades with an impressive array of talents including fine cooking, possessing a private pilot licence and an ability to fix virtually anything! John is a regular volunteer at a local Aviation Museum and an avid collector of World War II and European history memorabilia.

Monica Eriksen
Head of Operations
Monica transitioned over to the company from the humanitarian sector, where she spent over a decade working internationally on behalf of the marginalized. She holds couple graduate degrees from Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Pol and and George Mason University in Virginia. Monica is responsible for operational oversight of the company, which includes developing sound systems and processes, labor management and marketing strategy. She is passionate about social justice, human and animal rights with a particular focus on prison reform. She is very involved in community through volunteerism and local outreach initiatives. She is a wife and mother of two active boys and in her spare time rides horses.

Tenishia foster
Head of Human Resources
A native of Hampton Roads, Tenishia has heading up the Human Resources Department of with SSVA since 2016. She brings to the department her expertise in the HR field along with a strong sense fairness and advocacy for team members. Tenishia holds a bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University in Psychology with a minor in Community Health. When not working she enjoys spending time with her husb and and sons, especially out in nature. She likes to stay active and has participated in several local fun runs, including the Shamerock 8k, the Insane Inflatable 5k 4and the Surf and S and 5 Miler. To refuel, Tenishia enjoys discovering new cuisines and frequenting unique eateries.

Jeanie Houston
Head of Medical Quality Assurance
Jeanie has been with SSVA company since November 2003. She joined our team our fresh out of the Navy as a Direct Support Professional in Day Support. Her interest in the medical field and focus on details and systems helped her to develop our Medical Quality Assurance department. Jeannie received her Bachelor’s degree with a double major Psychology and English from Charleston Southern University in . She has always been passionate about the human services field. She enjoys helping and advocating for others. Jeanie’s hobbies include being outdoors, camping, horseback riding, riding motorcycles, photography and playing with her “pups”.
Michelle seekins
Michelle has been working in the field of intellectual and developmental disability for over 25 years. She has been with SSVA for most of this time and began her career as a Direct Support Professional. She is endorsed as a Person-Centered Thinking Facilitator and a Coaches’ Trainer. This combination gives her a unique perspective in identifying person-centered opportunities for team members. Michelle is an expert in positive practices and fully embraces SSVA’s philosophy. She enjoys spending time with her three teenage daughters and husb and. Among her favorite pastime activities are crabbing, fishing and being outdoors. She also loves meeting new and diverse people, being exposed to different worldviews and is dedicated to a positive and peaceful world.

Heidi williams
Head of Medicaid Waiver Compliance
Heidi came to SSVA in July 2004 as a Direct Support Professional in Day Support . She has a passion for to helping others, especially those who are perceived to not have a voice. In a culture that celebrates and rewards those who “yell” the loudest, Heidi wants to help others be heard. She likes to see people smile and enjoy life. Heidi holds an Associate degree in Accounting, but over the years she learned that she is more interested in people than numbers.. Her goal is to give at least one positive “thing” away and receive one positive “thing” from every relationship she has, regardless of the duration of that relationship. Whether is a kind word, a hug, some encouragement, a walk in the park, a listening ear or just sitting in silence with that person, she wants to ensure she gives away kindness. In her spare time she enjoys college basketball, has a flair for origami, and is a die-hard fan of Star Wars.
