Karen began working for SSVA as a part-time employee but transitioned over to a full-time employee in 2016. Before joining SSVA, she worked with children with an autism diagnosis and continues to do this part-time. Karen has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology.  She enjoys working with people and helping them to achieve the life that they want. Karen enjoys advocating for people and watching people explore new hobbies and experiences. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her family, her dogs and going camping.

REGIONAL HUMAN RESOURCE COORDINATOR

Toni is originally from West Haven, CT. She moved to Lynchburg in 2017 where she currently lives with her husband. She enjoys the beach, movies, and hanging out with her family. Toni has been with SSVA since February 2022 as our Regional Human Resource Coordinator. During that time, she has become an invaluable member of not only the Lynchburg and HR teams but the entire SSVA family. Toni came to the HR role with not a lot of experience but has made up for that with her enthusiasm and thirst for knowledge, quickly learning this essential role. She is passionate about SSVA and furthers the company’s mission by striving to make every person’s life better that she encounters. Toni is often described by herself and her teammates as an “octopus”, multitasking successfully throughout her day to ensure things are taken care of.

SERVICE COORDINATOR

Connie was hired by Support Services of Virginia in February 2018 as a DSP. By December 2018, the admiration of her hard work and dedication presented opportunities for her and she was promoted to Site Coordinator of two of our sites. A short time later in October of 2021, Connie decided to take her love of helping people live the life that they desire to the next level, and she transitioned to the office admin team as a QIDP in training. Connie is a MeeMaw and in her free time, she enjoys spending time with her 7 grandchildren, singing karaoke, and going to the beach.

REGIONAL HEAD OF IN-HOME SERVICES

Jill started working with Support Services of Virginia in 2015. Jill received an Associate of Occupational Science degree in Medical Assisting in 2009. She began her career with SSVA as a full-time DSP, then stepped into the role as a Site Coordinator and In-Home Team Coordinator. Most recently Jill stepped into her newest position as the Senior Site Coordinator in 2018 and became an QIDP in June of 2018. She enjoys working with all staff, as well as working with our individuals so that they can accomplish the fullest of their dreams and aspirations. In her free time, Jill likes to spend time with her family, painting, and writing poetry.

SERVICE COORDINATOR

Chelsea started at Support Services of Virginia in 2018 as a full-time DSP. Her dedication to her job and the phenomenal care she provided did not go unnoticed and she quickly landed a new position as an Assistant Site Coordinator. As Chelsea continued to show her love and compassion for the individuals she supported, she was promoted a second time to Site Coordinator of one of our sites in 2021. Just a year later in 2022 Chelsea jumped at the opportunity to further her career one more step and was promoted yet again to the Lynchburg admin team as a QIDP in training where she excels tremendously. Chelsea is eager to learn new things and has a personality that everyone loves. She is dedicated to making sure our individuals have the care and life that they truly enjoy and love. In her free time, Chelsea enjoys listening to music, swimming, and taking care of her two children. In the future, Chelsea hopes to further her education and get a degree in Psychology.

REGIONAL TRAINING COORDINATOR / ADMIN ASSISTANT

Avanna started at SSVA in 2022 as a DSP. Her eagerness to learn and prosper quickly got her promoted and she now works with the admin team as an Administrative Assistant and CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Prevention trainer. Avanna is new to the United States from Canada with a background in non-profit and community outreach work. She enjoys being a part of the SSVA team and likes training new and existing employees. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and exploring Virginia.
